Hot Gas Welding Devices Exotherm and Autotherm3

Focused on Ergonomics

Wegener International GmbH in Eschweiler, Germany, presents Exotherm und Autotherm3, two novel types of hot gas welding equipment.

The Exotherm hot gas welding gun is self-contained, and has a low weight. This handy tool features an efficient and lightweight motor. Its design is different from the usual structure (handle – fan housing – heating element), because the fan housing would restrict sight of the working area. A motor with a high power density was chosen, allowing for the fan housing to be re-positioned. As a result, sight of the working area was improved without changing the position of the center of gravity, as compared to a conventional structure. The tool is operated via closed-loop microprocessor temperature control. It also has an easily understandable operating concept and a backlit display.

The Autotherm3 hot gas welding device (figure: Wegener)

The Autotherm3 unit was developed on the basis of the existing series of devices. The third generation of the hot gas welding tool features a microprocessor closed-loop control with its control accuracy improved as against the second generation. Designed for external air supply, the device has a large, well readable lit display showing the actual and set temperatures, which enables optimum operation.
