Die Erema Engineering Recycling Maschinen und Anlagen GmbH, Ansfelden, Austria, is expanding its Intarema system with a Smart-Factory package. In addition to the machine data already gathered, integrated sensors will in future acquire and evaluate the MVR (melt volume rate) and color, as well as the moisture content. This QualityOn package permits recyclers and manufacturers to demonstrate the quality of their recyclates by data acquisition and analysis. Electronically stored recipes can be compared and modified at the click of a mouse. To exploit the wealth of machine, quality and process data, a manufacturing execution system (MES) was developed. The re360 is claimed to operate independently of the system manufacturer and register the productivity of an entire machine park in five modules. Not only local systems, but the production sites around the world can be integrated. This is demonstrated by the manufacturer live at K 2016 by transmitting the machine, quality and process data of the recycling center in the outdoor area (where Erema recycles the plastic waste from the trade show) to the trade show booth, and presenting it there in real time. The system offers an overview of the load or downtimes of the systems, documents the quality characteristics of the recyclates and can indicate when maintenance work is due, or that individual parts need to be exchanged, which can be ordered directly from the online webshop.
