Ejot Delta PT plastic screw

Connections – Easy and Secure

The glass-fiber reinforced plastic screw can be used for direct assembly of soft polymers, e.g. polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) (figure: Akro-Plastics)

For easy and secure connection of assembly groups, Ejot GmbH & Co. KG in Bad Berleburg, Germany, offers the Ejot Delta PT plastic screw designed for direct assembly. According to supplier information, this screw can not only reduce size as compared to conventional steel screws, but may even allow the number of joints to be diminished.

The screws are injection molded, which makes it possible to reproduce the complex contours in one single step. Together with Akro-Plastic GmbH in Niederzissen, Germany, the company chose Akromid T, a high-temperature compound on a polyphthalamide (PPA) basis, for this application. Moreover, the screws have a 50 % glass fiber content, and are up 80 % lighter than their steel counterparts. They are suitable for the direct assembly of soft thermoplastic materials, and their pre-load force remains stable, also under thermal impact. The company states that release torques are higher than the tightening torques applied. They are neither magnetic nor conductive, but can be recycled. The coefficients of expansion correspond to those of plastics materials.
