Easyflowing PA6 grades Durethan EasyFlow and Durethan Xtreme Flow

Lanxess AG, Leverkusen, Germany, is supplying several extremely easyflowing PA6 grades with glass fiber contents from 30 to 60% under the brand names Durethan EasyFlow and Durethan Xtreme Flow. These grades and PBT variants pick up on the trends in the electrical/electronics industry towards more economical production of components and equipment, improved safety, and metal substitution.

Depending on the material grade, flow lengths are up to 80% longer than with similar standard materials. The new materials enable development engineers to deliver products that are thinner, more lightweight and less prone to distortion, so facilitating the miniaturization of electrical components. Other advantages include processing at lower filling pressures and temperatures, faster cycles and reduced maintenance costs, since cavity pressure and wear are considerably decreased.

One application that makes full use of all these benefits is the central chamber of a vacuum cleaner produced from Durethan DP BKV 30 XF polyamide6. On the other hand, 30% glass fiber filled PBT Pocan T 7139 ensures improved safety and a longer service life for plug connectors.
