Dry Ice for Cleaning Different Surfaces
Cold Jet at K 2019
Dry ice cleaning from Cold Jet GmbH, Weinsheim, Germany, finds particular application in the automotive, packaging and medical sectors.
The company’s new PCS 60 particle control system cuts dry ice into particle sizes ranging from 0.3 to 3 mm in 28 intermediate sizes. This supports a wide range of cleaning applications, such as the surfaces of injection molds, blow molds, die casting molds, extrusion tools, thermo molds, screws and urethane molds. Deburring of parts is also possible.
Flexibly Adapted to Applications
A newly designed feed system reduces air pressure loss and reduces dry ice sublimation. The machine is equipped with a 7-inch LCD color screen that allows the user to view and adjust blasting parameters and machine settings, such as blasting pressure, particle size and flow rate. Different settings can be programmed and stored and thus flexibly adapted to applications.
The PCS 60 also enables data to be collected and managed and provides remote monitoring and diagnostics. The system can be automated and integrated for use in connection with Industry 4.0, and can be combined with a dry ice production unit and a robot for continuous and fully automated blasting.
