Cooling System for Higher Output
Reifenhäuser Kiefel Extrusion GmbH, Worms, Germany, has added a user-friendly high-performance cooling system for considerably higher output of blown film to its Evolution generation of blown film systems. In keeping with the philosophy underlying the ECP system (Enhanced Cooling Package), the cooling concept with the designation Evolution Ultra Cool provides uniform cooling inside and outside. This is accomplished through use of a height-adjustable cooling ring and an air-cooled inside cooling system. In addition to improved air flow inside the bubble, the stability of the bubble is retained at high throughputs as well. The high cooling capacity of the system permits a die factor well above two. Thanks to the high bubble stability, very tight wall thickness and width tolerances are possible even at high throughputs. In addition, short startup and job changeover times ensure high production output while simultaneously conserving resources.
User-friendliness of the system was a further priority during the development phase. Optimized cooling elements and the height-adjustable cooling ring mean that the system can be started up and operated in production in the usual way familiar to operators. The system is just as easy to operate as a conventional cooling system. The system can be used for numerous applications such as general packaging film, collation shrink film, stretch hood, hygienic packaging film or stand-up pouches.
