Bianor Rotary Blow Molding
The Pivotal Advantage when Blow Molding
Bianor Sp. Z.O.O., Bialystok, the Polish manufacturer of molded plastic parts, has developed a new blow molding technique. The Bianor Rotary Blow Molding (BRBM) technique now permits production of thick-walled and concave molded parts that were impossible with conventional approaches to blow molding.
As the first application, the molder is producing the spherical LivingColors lamp for Philips from a glasslike mixed polymer – a material that is less expensive and also safer than glass. In addition to the molded parts lending themselves very readily to production, the lamp itself has a long service life and is very resistant. A key element of the new production process involves controlled molding of already partially set resin in the mold. By using mixed polymers, the new approach permits production of molded parts with any degree of transparency and in a variety of colors. The product can be finished further by means of painting, metal plating or other decorative techniques. The new blow molding technique is versatile and can be used to produce packaging and kitchenware as well as consumer electronics.
