From Elastomers to Polyamides

Bada

Bada AG, Bühl, Germany, has invested in a new blending technology that considerably simplifies the scale-up from the laboratory to large production lines. With the thermoplastic elastomers, high-temperature applications of up to 135 °C are achieved, e. g. with Badaflex TPE-E. The odor-reduced TPE-S grades are intended for applications in the automotive interior. Flame-retardant TPU grades satisfying the V0 requirements are available in all colors with UL listing.

Extensive applications aimed at the substitution of metal are made possible on the basis of Badamid PPA (polyphthalamide). High continuous service temperatures of above 150 °C with low water absorption result in good dimensional stability. Heat distortion temperatures of up to 270 °C can be achieved with the partially aromatic Badamit T70 GF60 HH, and up to 250 °C with the PA66-based Badamid A70 GF60. Formulations based on PA12 and PA612 are created for polyamide applications with chemical resistance.

A variety of flame retardant Badamid polyamide compounds with UL f1 listing is available in practically any color, and with glass fiber contents in the range from 20 to 35 %.
