Aspi 150.2 Seco
Blow Molding with Radial Thickness Control
ST Soffiaggio Tecnica, Monza, Italy, has developed the Aspi 150.2 Seco blow molding machine suitable for the production of technical parts with different overlapping layers (longitudinal co-extrusion), or with the same ones in sequential arrangement (sequential co-extrusion).
The machine is equipped with two extruders with screw diameters of 60 mm, two material accumulators with accumulation capacity of 1 L. and it has a clamping force of 200 kN. What differentiates this machine to others of the same model, is the development regarding the extrusion head. On this AspiI Seco the new 4WDS radial thickness control has been integrated for the first time.
This device is entirely based on the experience and know-how of ST and its main advantages are:
- four independently working actuators,
- no backlash thanks to direct drive of the cylinders on the die,
- the transducer directly controls the die position, and
- uniform heating.
With 500 control points, it allows a uniform wall thickness to be achieved, even for the most critical parts and components to be produced.
Positive results have already been achieved with the testing of the new model. The plant will be installed at LS MTRON, one of the leading Korean companies with more than EUR 1.5 billion of sales and a worldwide leader in the production of pipes for the automotive industry.
