New Directions in Recycling

Aquafil

Aquafil Engineering GmbH, Berlin, Germany, focuses on the planning and development of efficient and cost-effective processing technology for the polymerization of polyamides and polyesters. Besides this core business, The company is now also integrating the recycling of post-industrial and post-consumer waste into the polymerization process. For example, the residual monomer produced by the polycondensation of polyamides is fed completely back to the process, so that a theoretical conversion of 100 % can be achieved by this Lactam Direct Recycling (LDR).

Under the trade name EverPet, the company also offers solutions for the feedstock and material recycling of polyesters. Both pigmented, coated and metallized wastes are used. The aim of the technologies that have been developed is a closed material loop, including complete reuse.
