All-electric H-PET AE
News from India
Husky Injection Molding Systems of Bolton, Ontario, Canada, has introduced its new machine platform H-PET AE (= All Electric) to the professional public at the Plastindia Plastics Fair in New Delhi during the first week of February. The H-PET AE is an all-electric series of machines featuring energy efficiency, flexibility, user friendliness and low maintenance requirements, according to the manufacturer. At the Fair, a model H-PET AE 180 produced preforms weighing 19 g for 1-liter water bottles in a 32-cavity mold. These EcoBase design preforms enable materials savings of up to 2.5 % by thinning out the bottle bottom. This, too, will help speed up return on investment, since lower mass accumulation means lower cooling requirements. Husky supplies the system as turnkey solution with integrated materials drying, die demoisturizing and the entire infrastructure of a manufacturing cell.
The premiere in India can easily be said to be well thought out, since the SAARC countries of Southern Asia are considered a booming market for systems of this type. In mid-year, Husky will take the next step toward strengthening its foothold in the region. The manufacturer of injection molding machines and hot-runner equipment will then open its new plant in Chennai. Husky’s main goal is to cover the requirements of local preform producers for dies and hot-runners. The 5,700 m2 site will include a pilot plant for customer testing, a development center for hot-runner systems and preforms, as well as a center for replacement parts intended to expedite service to their regional customers.
