Air-cooled laser system Novolas Basis AT Compact

Leister Process Technologies, Kaegiswil, Switzerland, has designed an air-cooled and thus compact laser system specifically intended for incorporation into production lines and cells. The Novolas Basis AT Compact is ideally suited for welding applications that require low-power output, especially contour welding with standard or Globo optics.

With a depth of 500 mm, the 19 enclosure houses a fiber-coupled laser module with an output of 40 W and features a front display for presentation of the process status and system diagnostics. It can be used as a table-top model and combined with all fiber-coupled optics in the Novolas line. The LineBeam AT is an additional laser model that can be incorporated into the system. The optics head has a linear steel profile, can be combined with a Basis AT or a WS from the Novolas series and is well-suited for use of the patented mask welding process for plastics. Moreover, the especially uniform energy density distribution claimed by the manufacturer is allegedly beneficial for joining wide lines in textiles, fabrics and packaging as well as for high-speed and endless applications. The laser modules in the series are available with outputs of 150 W and 300 W, each in seven different line lengths between 20 and 100 mm.
