DWR Double-Skin Pipe Bends
Highly Wear-Resistant Conveyor Systems
In order to maintain conveyor system functionality, in particular where abrasive materials are involved, HS Umformtechnik GmbH of Grünsfeld, Germany, is offering a newly developed double-skin pipe bend (type: DWR) whose internal pipe bend is surrounded by a second pipe bend. The company distinguishes two different versions: in the first one, if abrasive material has led to a rupture, the hollow space between the inner and outer wall becomes filled with conveyed material. Once the double chamber is full, conveyance proceeds at this point according to the "product on product"-principle.
In the second version, the double chamber is additionally lined with high-strength concrete that further prevents material-dependent wear. Besides metal components for conveying glass fiber-reinforced plastic granulates, the manufacturer will present pipe elbows, branch elements, sight glasses, and complete coupling stations made from borosilicate glass at the fair. Their lifetime is up to 20 times longer compared to standard stainless steel products.
