350 kN clamping force Boy 35 E

Dr. Boy GmbH & Co. KG, Neustadt-Fernthal, Germany, has equipped its 350 kN clamping force Boy 35 E machine with a servo pump motor, like its bigger sisters 55 E and 90 E. The heart of the system is a synchronous servo motor with gear pump. The operator enters the settings for pressure and quantity into the machine control unit. The actual values are measured simultaneously and controlled in a closed loop. The converters and software are tailored to the needs of a highly responsive pressure and velocity controller.

The pump speed is adapted to the respective cycle step. The motor and pump are stationary between "metering time end" and "cooling time end". Depending on the design, the servo pump motor offers more dynamic movements, which result in reduced cycle time and better part quality. The machine’s footprint has also been reduced. At 1.9 m2 , it is the most compact machine in its clamping force class.
