Wittmann’s New French Factory Fully Commissioned
Leading plastics equipment supplier Wittmann (UK) Ltd, Wellingborough, England, has completed the consolidation of its French operation on a new site in Chassal, France. The former moldmaker Paul Regad is now housed together with Wittmann’s granulator production plant in new premises in Chassal, 20 km away from Oyonnax, France, (the former granulator site) and 10 km away from St. Claude, France (the former toolmaking site).
Regad was purchased by Wittmann in 2006 and has become an integral part of Wittmann’s unique and bespoke automated In Mould Labelling (IML) systems. The take up of these is fast gathering pace among packaging suppliers to Europe’s food industry.
The manufacture of Wittmann France granulators is now taking place on a Chassal shop floor of 900sm including a 12 x 4m paint shop and a testing facility that has capacity for a dozen granulators. These facilities are completed by a 720sm storeroom housing the single components and spare parts for manufacturing and service. In addition, there is room enough for 200 finalized granulators of the Minor, Junior, and MAS series.
