Vinyl 2010: Winners of Essay Competition
The winners of the second Vinyl 2010 Essay Competition, which has total prize value of EUR 11,000, have been announced. Earlier this year, participants aged 18–30 years were invited to submit 1,000 words in response to the question "Faced with a food and energy crisis, how can society improve its well-being?".
The first prize in the European Economic Area category has been won by 28 year old Jon Elms, United Kingdom.
The second prize has been awarded to British/Canadian Fiona Wright, 30 years old.
The third prize went to 26 year old Robert McSweeney, London.
The Global Category Prize was awarded to Christian Williams, 28 years old from New Zealand.
The Industry Prize has been won by 22 year old Wei Chao Zhou, Singapure.
The winning essays as well as the 35 runners-up can be read on the competition website. The 40 top essays will be published in a book.
