Uhde Inventa-Fischer: MTR Technology for Oman and USA
Octal Holding & Co. invests USD 300 million to build fully integrated plants for the production of PET resin and APET sheet. The contracts for two lines using the Melt-To-Resin MTR technology proprietary to Uhde Inventa-Fischer were awarded in September 2006 and January 2007, respectively.
The Indorama group of Thailand has likewise announced that it has chosen Uhde Inventa-Fischer as supplier for their latest project, a PET resin plant to be built in Alabama (USA), as a new subsidiary AlphaPet, Inc. The plant will have an annual capacity of 432,000 tons and will use Uhde Inventa-Fischer’s proprietary MTR technology.
Meanwhile, on September 19, 2007 Uhde Inventa-Fischer’s first MTR line has been officially inaugurated with a festive ribbon-cutting ceremony at DAK Americas’ North Carolina Cape Fear site and the product has been sold to US preformers on contract basis. The new plant has an annual capacity of 200,000 tons and delivers high quality PET bottle-grade resins, using Uhde Inventa-Fischer’s Melt-to-Resin process.
