Trelleborg: Work Starts on New Offshore Facility in Brazil
Trelleborg Offshore, the global manufacturer of polymer and syntactic foam-based solutions for the offshore industry, has marked the start of work on its new Brazil facility with a sod-cutting ceremony at the site in Macaé.
The new facility, due to open towards the end of 2011, will manufacture Trelleborg Offshore’s complete product portfolio, which includes a wide range of polymer-based solutions for offshore topside and subsea oil and gas exploration.
The coastal city of Macaé, located approximately 180 kilometers north of Rio de Janeiro, is known as Brazil’s oil capital as it is where all major project-engineering companies for the sector are located.
