Tessenderlo: New Group CEO
Frank Coenen will succeed Gérard Marchand as new Tessenderlo Group CEO as per January 15, 2010.
Now aged 66, Gérard Marchand served as Tessenderlo Group’s CEO since 1987. He is set to stay on as chairman of the Board of Directors.
Belgian Frank Coenen (50) has been with Tessenderlo Group since 2006, initially as the director in charge of the Chemicals business group before moving on to become COO in 2009. Previously, he served with Cytec and UCB in a variety of different senior management positions.
Frank Coenen will be heading up a renewed Management Committee. The current team which consists of Pol Deturck (Chemicals), Albert Vasseur (Plastics Converting) and Jan Vandendriessche (Organic Specialities) was expanded to include Mel de Vogue (CFO) and Eddy Vandenbriele (HR & ICT), who were previously attending members, as well as Jettie Van Caenegem (Group General Counsel) and Jordan Burns (Tessenderlo Kerley).
