SPE Celebrates 75th Anniversary Next Year
2017 marks the 75th anniversary of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), and with this milestone the organization announces some new services as it looks to increase its service offering to its members and corporate partners.
Coming in November 2016, SPE will be launching the new SPE Open Innovation Platform. This is a web-based platform where SPE will 'link' those companies who have a development need with the creators or those who have a solution to the new needs. Another new service is the SPE Industry Technology Surveys. These are a new way for companies to survey the market for technology trends as well as for detailed explorations on material or technical evolutions.
SPE will also be organizing Technology Days on focused subjects with and for corporations. This will allow companies to invite customers and prospects from SPE's network to showcase their new products and technologies alongside with experts in the field, who present the newest advancements in that focused area.
2017 will be marked as SPE 75th year of activity and the activity will substantially increase as SPE announces no less than 5 additional events such as: a Medical Plastics conference in Europe (in partnership with Plastics News Europe) and in the USA there will be new events, such as a ‘Plastics in Sports’ and a ‘Plastics in Building and Construction’ conference (in partnership with JEC), an Additive Manufacturing conference (in partnership with Plastics News) and finally a special event to celebrate the 75th anniversary in Detroit, the city where SPE was born.
