Something New on the Western Front
Opening of Chen Hsong Germany
Chinese injection molding machine maker Chen Hsong opened a German subsidiary on June 6, 2019. This was confirmed by Andreas Bexte, Managing Director of Chen Hsong Germany GmbH, at a preliminary press conference for K2019 that was held in Düsseldorf, Germany, on June 3. The company is based in Kempen on the Lower Rhine and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Chen Hsong Europe B.V., which was founded in Pannerden, the Netherlands, in 2013.
According to Bexte, the Chen Hsong Group is one of the world’s largest makers of injection molding machines with clamping forces in the range 200 to 65,000 kN and ships around 15,000 machines annually – 65% of them to China and Hong Kong. The company was founded in 1958 and has been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 1991.
Bextes says that Chen Hsong has installed 50 machines in Germany so far. The aim of the new subsidiary is to be more agile in the German market and to build up lasting relationships with customers by serving as a partner for standard and special solutions. The subsidiary will also act as a service base. In the future, several fully equipped injection molding machines will be available at the Chen Hsong Germany GmbH site for demonstration, test and training purposes. Chen Hsong has a large number of new machines in stock at its warehouse in the Netherlands to ensure short delivery times for the German market.
