SolVin: Launch of SolVin Award for PVC
On the occasion of the international plastics trade fair K 2010 SolVin, a joint venture between Solvay (75 %) and BASF (25 %), organizes the fourth edition of its European contest "The SolVin Award for PVC Innovation".
Candidates may be plastic converters, additive suppliers, machine producers, end users, prescriptors, service providers, academic institutions, designers and students.
The applications must comply with the following criteria. The innovations must
- have a direct reference to PVC
- contribute to the positive image of PVC
- bring improvement to existing products
- lead to an application that exists or could be developed on the European market
- be under way or already available on the market since January 1, 2008.
An independent jury will choose five winners from all the projects submitted. The Gold SolVin Award will be recognized with EUR 50,000, the Silver SolVin Award with EUR 25,000, and the Bronze SolVin Award with EUR 10,000. SolVin will furthermore award two special prizes of EUR 7,500 in the categories of Recycling and Design.
