Röchling Engineering Plastics SE & Co. KG, Haren, Germany, takes over plastic processor Schwartz GmbH Technical Plastics, Xanten, Germany, pending the necessary competition authority approvals. In the future, the plastic processor will be managed by Thomas Schlag, Ralf van Holt and Heinz Dirksen as chairman of the Executive Board. As Director of Sales and Marketing for the Business Unit Machined Components, Dirksen is together with Dietmar Telgenkämper, Business Unit Director Production and Engineering, also responsible for the machining activities at Röchling Industrial. Managing Partner Dr Stephan Peiffer, who has headed the Schwartz Group since 2001, will resign from the company with the takeover.

As an international group of companies, Schwartz GmbH specialises in the manufacture of moulded components from cast polyamide and offers in particular large-volume and highly resilient machined parts made from engineering plastics for virtually any industry. Over 240 members of staff are currently employed at four sites in Germany, the Czech Republic, China and the USA.

Growth and New Markets

The machining group in Röchling’s Industrial Division is one of the world's leaders in the machining of thermoplastics and composites, with over 20 closely networked and globally positioned sites. The companies specialise in the production of high-quality machined parts and components for almost every sector of the capital goods industry.

Franz Lübbers, member of the Executive Board and responsible for Röchling Group’s Industrial Division, states, “With this acquisition we enhance our competence with new technologies and anticipate synergies with our global sites for the manufacture of machined parts. The Schwartz Group is active in specialist industries in general engineering and particularly in lifting and conveying technology. As well as the production of highly resilient, large-volume, complex cast parts, Schwartz has the applied expertise required to fulfil the specialist technical requirements of its customers. The complementary activities at Schwartz are highly compatible with Röchling.

The Managing Partner of Schwartz GmbH Technical Plastics, Dr Stephan Peiffer is impressed, “We are delighted that Schwartz GmbH is part of the Röchling Group, which has a great deal of experience in the integration of companies. For the company and our employees, this opens up prospects for continued growth in an internationally successful plastics group and to exploit new markets, without losing our independence and familial corporate structure."
