Rodenburg Has Acquired Optimum
Rodenburg Biopolymers B.V., Oosterhout, Netherlands, has recently acquired Optimum, the company that developed and markets FlourPlast. Together they can serve the converter and compounder markets alike with biodegradable biopolymers. Rodenburg’s own Solanyl is a compound that can be directly used by converters and is a renewable substitute for various petroleum-based plastic applications. Optimum’s FlourPlast is an unique pre-compound system constructed to offer compounders the flexibility to make their own bioplastic compound formulations in a flexible and convenient way through a modular building block system. Both products are developed in cooperation with Wacker Chemie AG and fit into conventional production processes.
