Reifenhäuser Kiefel: New US Location
Danvers, north of Boston, is the new U.S. home for Reifenhäuser Kiefel Extrusion GmbH, Worms, Germany.
The 10,000-square-foot facility will house service, spare parts and project management teams to support customers in the United States and Canada.
The need for a single location came about when Reifenhäuser GmbH & Co. KG bought Kiefel Extrusion GmbH from Brückner Technology Holding GmbH. Leaders of the two German blown film machinery makers announced the deal in August.
Both blown film machinery makers ran their own U.S. operations in New England: Reifenhauser Inc. in Ipswich, Mass., and Kiefel Inc. about 30 miles north in Hampton, N.H.
Steve DeSpain is vice president of sales and marketing for the new U.S. operation, called Reifenhauser Kiefel Extrusion.
