Rajashree Polyfil: PA 6 Polymerization Plant Set Up

Century Enka Ltd., Pune/India, is the latest company in India to successfully set up a polyamide 6 (PA6) polymerization plant for the production of high viscous tire cord grade quality chips. The company consists of three plants with state of the art technology. Century Enka Ltd. has been continously striving for modern technology to manufacture global standard quality of Nylon and Polyester Filament Yarns as well as Tire Cord Fabric. Consequently, Century Enka ordered at Uhde Inventa-Fischer GmbH, Berlin/Germany, a modern PA6 plant for the production of 40 mt/d tire cord grade chips. The plant is located in Pune and was commissioned in January 2005.

Afterwards an additional polymerization plant to produce another 40 mt/d PA6 tire cord chips was ordered by Century Enka from Uhde Inventa-Fischer GmbH for Rajashree Polyfil, Bharuch/India. After mechanical completion beginning of December 2006, the pre-commissioning of the plant was started. Commissioning with caprolactam was initialized one month later. The plant capacity was stabilized on the contractual value of 40 mt/d and finally the performance was demonstrated to the client. On January 22nd of 2007 the plant had successfully passed a three days test run and was fully accepted by the client.
