Plastics Technology Club: Founding Conference
The founding conference of the Plastics Technology Club will take place on 23 March 2011 in Poznan, Poland, during the second day of the EPLA Fair. In barely two months after the Club’s idea appeared in the public domain its ranks have been reinforced by more than 250 members who are mainly plastics processing engineers from large and medium enterprises operating in this sector of Polish economy.
The Plastics Technology Club has been established by the Poznan University of Technology and the industry-related Business Image Publishing House. The Club is a grass roots initiative with no influence of governmental or EU agencies. The Club’s tasks will mainly involve representation and integration of the polymer community, education, exchange of professional experience, and collaboration with foreign organizations. According to the initiators of the Club – Marek Szostak (Poznan University of Technology) and Waldemar Sobanski (Business Image Publishing House) – by the end of 2011 the Club will number approximately 450 to 500 members. Even now the club is the most numerous organization of the broadly-understood polymer industry in Poland and Central Europe.
