Plastics Electronics Awards: Call for Nominations

To celebrate and reward the endeavour of the companies and research institutes developing and commercialising new products based on the printing and coating of organic and inorganic electronic materials, the Plastic Electronics Awards 2009 are being held. The categories are as follows:

  • Outstanding Contribution to Plastic Electronics – sponsored by Cambridge Display Technology: One winner. For a longstanding academic career of exceptional contributions in the field of plastic electronics. To be decided by the panel.
  • Engineering Breakthrough – sponsored by Fraunhofer IPMS: One winner, three nominees. The award identifies and acknowledges breakthroughs in engineering during the last 12 months.
  • Most Innovative/Novel Use of Plastic electronics: One winner, three nominees. The award recognises a product in commercialised or piloted – in the last 12 months – based on plastic electronics technology that is a new product.

The final nominees and winners will be judged following an open nomination process. The deadline for nominations for the ‘Engineering Breakthrough’ and the ‘Most Innovative/Novel Use of Plastic Electronics’ categories is 28 September 2009.

The final nominees and winners in each category will be announced at the 5th Global Plastic Electronics Conference and Showcase, 27-29 October 2009, in Dresden, Germany and profiled in the post-event issue of +Plastic Electronics magazine, due out in November.
