New President for Reverdia

Reverdia, Geleen, The Netherlands, announced that Marcel Lubben, born in 1967, has been appointed President, effective January 1, 2014. Reverdia, a joint venture between Royal DSM and Roquette Frères is dedicated to be the global leader in the market for sustainable succinic acid. Reporting to the Reverdia board, Lubben will be responsible for developing and managing Reverdia into the next phase of growth.
Lubben replaces General Manager Will van den Tweel who successfully led the start-up of Reverdia. Van den Tweel drove the joint collaboration between Roquette and DSM on Biosuccinium™ and was one of the founders of DSM’s innovation initiatives into Industrial Biotechnology.
Lubben joined DSM in 1994. He held positions in Research, Business Development and Marketing & Sales in DSM Pharma Chemicals and DSM Biologics before transitioning into the industrial biotechnology sector. In 2009, he was appointed Managing Director Licensing for DSM and became Managing Director Venturing & Licensing in 2011. In 2012 he became Vice President Bio-based Chemicals & Materials, and he served as a member of the Reverdia board from mid-2012 until the end of 2013.
