Messe Erfurt Launches the 3D Pioneers Challenge
The Messe Erfurt, Erfurt, Germany, launches in co-operation with d.sign21, Stuttgart, Germany, office for design and consulting, the 3D Pioneers challenge. The international competition for additive manufacturing technologies is aimed at designers who are breaking new ground in the field of 3-D printing.
Under the motto "Pushing Boundaries" the competition will focus on the categories Architecture, Automotive, Fashion, Design and Medicine. The 3D Pioneers Challenge has a total of EUR 15,000 of prize money to award. The the basic questions that cover the aim of the competition are: Where does using additive manufacturing make sense, today and in the near future? How can it be integrated on a conceptual and practical level into areas such as hybrids, the Internet of things and Industry 4.0, or help to drive them forward? Who are the pioneers of nowadays, combining the latest technologies and developing practical applications, integrating them into existing processes or creating brand new, trend-setting concepts?
The international, high-class jury decides upon the quality of the submissions. The projects of the finalists will be presented in a special exhibition during the Rapid.Tech & FabCon 3.D, June 14-16, 2016 in Erfurt. The exhibits will then be taken on a roadshow on international fairs.
