Mask Strap Solution for Medical Staff
Joined Forces to Support Healthcare Heroes
Braskem has joined forces with the Hulptroepen Alliance to bring relief for healthcare workers across The Netherlands and Germany. An low carbon material is bringing comfort to both frontline medical staff, and the planet.
Circular Material for Medical Application
Made from a sugarcane-based plastic, the mask strap solution takes the pressure off sensitive ears, meaning mask straps are more comfortable for longer periods of time. A circular material - a low carbon plastic that can be recycled – complements an innovative design.
Braskem and the Hulptroepen Alliance hope their donation of mask straps can benefit many more people working to treat patients in hospitals and care homes during the corona pandemic. The masks contribute to the safety measures that have entered into force in The Netherlands, and beyond.
Donation to Healthcare Heroes
Out of the 150,000 units produced for donation, Braskem decided to make 75.000 mask straps available to Hulptroepen Alliance for donation to hospitals and care homes in Germany and The Netherlands to support our healthcare heroes working on the front line every day. This joint effort combines an innovative idea from Biopromotions, in response to the current circumstances regarding COVID-19, with Braskem’s global commitment to providing sustainable solutions.
“We are extremely pleased that Braskem's "I'm green" mask straps will reach many health workers through Hulptroepen Alliance and we hope this can bring some relief to the people who are key for the health of all of us,” says Marco Jansen, Circular Economy Director at Braskem.
