The German-based filtration specialist Mann+Hummel, Ludwigsburg, founded a 100% subsidiary in Thailand to support customer demand for local production and to accelerate the group’s automotive and water business in the region. The Mann and Hummel (Thailand) LTD. offices are located in the capital and the company is now installing a nearly 4,000 square meter production site including a distribution centre in the Rayong Area. Rayong is about 2 hours driving south east of Bangkok and houses a fast growing international automotive cluster. The company will produce air cleaner systems and intake manifolds for passenger cars and trucks.
It is Mann+Hummel’s goal to double sales in the truck business and to increase the Asian share of the Group sales from 17% in 2011 to 25% by 2018. By then group sales are expected to realize at least EUR 3.4 billion.
