Lurgi: Plant in Russia
Lurgi GmbH, Frankfurt am Main, and EuroChem, Moscow, have signed two contracts with a total value of EUR 92.7 million for the design and supply of a melamine plant.
The melamine unit, which will be the first of its kind in Russia, has a capacity of 50,000 t/a. It will be built within the framework of reconstruction of the carbamide production facilities on the premises of “Nevinnomyssky Azot”. The value of the complete project amounts to EUR 184 million.
The unit is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2010 and will start production in early 2011.
Melamine is a raw product for the production of various environmentally safe polymeric compounds such as plastic materials, varnishes and glues.
