Lord Germany: Expansion
Lord Germany GmbH, Hückelhoven-Baal, Germany, is celebrating its expansion of its Hückelhoven plant with a traditional groundbreaking ceremony on 17 June 2008. The expansion of the plant is part of its long-term commitment to supply high-quality, state-of-the-products and technology to its customers across Europe.
Built in 1986 the plant has functioned as Lord Corporation’s European manufacturing site for bonding agents for rubber-to-substrate bonding and rubber coating products, serving industrial and automotive anti-vibration, belting and weather-strip door seal manufacturers.
The expansion is expected to be complete by mid-2009 and will increase capacity to meet anticipated European market demand for rubber-to-substrate primers, adhesives and coatings well into the next decade. The local community will also benefit as the company continue to invest in the region and the economy, providing local people with opportunities for employment.
With headquarters in Cary, North Carolina, USA, and sales in excess of 700 million USD, Lord Corporation is a privately-held company that designs, manufactures and markets devices and systems to manage mechanical motion and control noise and vibration; formulates, produces and sells general purpose and specialty adhesives and coatings; and develops products and systems utilizing magnetically responsive technologies.
