Lanxess: Stepping up Capacities
Lanxess AG in Leverkusen, Germany, will erect a new compounding plant in Jhagadia, India. Its initial capacity will be 20,000 tonnes per year of the engineering plastics Durethan (polyamide) and Pocan (polybutylene terephthalate). 60 workers will be employed at the plant, with construction scheduled to start in autumn this year, and operation in the beginning of 2012. According to company information, investment will range at over EUR 10 million.
Together with the compounding plant in Wuxi, China, the plant will form the business unit’s production network to provide all parts of Asia with the two materials.
