Lanxess: More Pigments in China
Lanxess AG, Leverkusen; Germany, is expanding its global production network for inorganic pigments, and building a new factory in China. In the Ningbo Chemicals Park on the east coast of China, a new high-tech plant for iron oxide red pigments is being built. The factory, which is oriented to the latest environmental standards, is planned for an initial capacity of 25,000 t/a. The investment volume is EUR55 million. Construction will begin in the second quarter of 2013. Production start is scheduled for the first quarter of 2015.
In China, Lanxess already operates one of the biggest and most modern iron oxide pigment plants in Jinshan, Shanghai. This factory has a capacity of 38,000 t/a for high-quality iron oxide yellow and iron oxide black pigments.
