KraussMaffei: New Engineering Center in Slovakia
KraussMaffei Technologies GmbH, Munich, Germany, is currently expanding its presence in north-western Slovakia by setting up a new Engineering Center in the university city of Zilina. By winter 2008, KraussMaffei expects to have 20 newly-hired engineers working in the center designing components for its plastics processing machinery. The company already employs over 100 people building switching cabinets for the machines in its plant in Martin, around 30km from Zilina. Subsequent expansion phases will increase the staff at the Zilina centre to around 80 engineers by the end of 2010. Another cornerstone of KraussMaffei’s growing involvement in this region is a recently agreed cooperation with the mechanical engineering faculty of the University of Zilina.
