Invista Builds New Compounding Asset in the U.S.
With a goal of serving global customers with application-back solutions, Invista Engineering Polymers is now operating world-scale compounding units at its Chattanooga, TN/USA, manufacturing site. The addition of the new, 22,000-ton capacity allows the business to further deliver on its commitment to consistently provide customers – regardless of geographic location – with application solutions made from its reinforced engineered polymers sold under the Torzen brand.
By building the compounding asset in North America, Invista now manufactures product to specification for multiple regions of the world, which helps meet multi-region OEM and automotive suppliers’ needs. Invista employed the latest turnkey compounding technology from Coperion and had successful startup in 2013. The North American compounding asset is the second compounding investment by Invista. In December 2012, the company announced the acquisition of a compounding and recycling manufacturing facility in Born, the Netherlands.
