Ineos Nova: To Shut Down Montreal PS Plant
Ineos Nova announced plans to shut down its Montreal PQ polystyrene production by the end of 2007. The site has annual production capacity of 55 kt of polystyrene.
According to the company, shutting down the site will remove high-cost capacity and enable Ineos Nova to consolidate production at its most efficient manufacturing sites. The shutdown will remove approx. 6 % of Ineos Nova’s North American polystyrene production capacity. This action represents the first step toward achieving the estimated USD 50 million annual North American synergies target for the company.
