IKV Offers International Education Program
The International Education Program (IEP) offered by the renowned Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) at RWTH Aachen University, Germany, provides qualification for plastics engineering professionals, both from Germany and abroad, for an international executive employment. The systematic training in plastics technology, general engineering skills, and intercultural communication comes from a single source, in a compact format, embedded into the large IKV network, bringing multiple opportunities for personal and professional exchange.
With its modular approach, the IEP merges the power of two strong partners: As the leading institute in plastics processing, IKV provides all its technical and personal resources and capability for a first-class qualification. RWTH Aachen University supports the program with courses in general engineering skills and intercultural training. In seminars and lectures the participants are trained in the field of project and time management as well as country information and intercultural competence.
IKV supports both companies and participants with the selection and execution of the training modules. IKV employees support the further networking of the participants, their companies and alumni. The structured and comprehensive program addresses technical knowledge, engineering method skills as well as intercultural competence to make the preparation for an international assignment as effective as possible. All seminars, lectures and the project work are conducted in English and take place in Aachen in a compact format.
The IEP is designed to fulfill the special needs of small and medium-sized companies in the plastics industry. Major advantages for the companies are the fact that only relevant content is addressed and that the education costs are lower compared to individual training solutions. The companies benefit from highly qualified and excellently prepared employees for their international locations as well as from access to a broad scientific and industrial network in Germany and abroad.
Three packages for different demands are the framework of the program:
- Foreign Young Professional
- Future Expat (non plastics engineer)
- Future Expat (for plastics engineers),
with the first two addressing participants with a university degree in engineering and the third package for engineers with a profound knowledge in plastics engineering. Individualization is realized by optional modules in the areas of "Intercultural Training" and "Technology".
