Hosokawa Alpine Takes Over Anton Kolb Maschinenbau
The stage is set for Hosokawa Alpine AG, Augsburg, Germany, to take over Anton Kolb Maschinenbau GmbH, Niederkassel, Germany, at the beginning of the year. The Kolb family is retiring from the company business. Non-disclosure of the selling price has been agreed.
Anton Kolb Maschinenbau currently employs approximately 60 employees at its registered offices close to Cologne. The company develops and manufactures solutions for film handling projects. The product range includes take-off units, winders, unwind stations and customer-specific special solutions in the fields of flat film and blown film.
Hosokawa Alpine employs more than 900 staff, predominantly at locations in Germany. The film technology business division develops and manufactures blown film lines for the coextrusion of film with up to 11 layers as well as monoaxial film orientation lines (MDO). The powder and particle processing division is a leading supplier of machines and systems designed for grinding fine powders, and supplies to numerous industrial sectors for a great variety of applications. Both business divisions are global players on the world markets and are able to boast a high export share.
Anton Kolb Maschinenbau will continue to operate without restriction at its present location and it is planned to expand the product range. The customers can rest assured that in the future, too, the spare parts service will be continued in its entirety and can furthermore count on a worldwide service network.
