Heubach: New Pigment Plant
The start-up of a production unit for the manufacture of bismuth vanadate pigments at the Heubach groups’ site in Langelsheim/Germany is another step in the company’s expansion of its market position for coloured pigments, anti-corrosive pigments and pigment preparations. With a total capacity of 300 t/a, it will produce bismuth vanadate pigments for use in industrial and automotive coatings, as well as water-based decorative paints, and acid, alkali & heat resistant grades for coloration of plastics and construction materials. The product portfolio is rounded off with a new innovative process for manufacturing a high-opacity and therefore economical hybrid pigment based on nickel rutile yellow and bismuth vanadate. Furthermore, the Heubach group in Langelsheim is investing 3 million EUR in an innovative manufacturing technology for the production of inorganic coloured pigments which will expand the capacity to 5000 t. This, together with the expansion of the groups capacities for high performance pigments in Asia, will allow for the Heubach group to consolidate its position as a reliable partner for customers in the high performance coatings and plastics sectors.
