Hekuma Expands its Activities in China

Due to an increased demand for automation technology in the Chinese market Hekuma GmbH, Eching, Germany, is going to further expand its presence in the region.

Hekuma has been present in the Chinese market for more than three years. The local sales office of the Bavarian manufacturer of high-performance automation systems is located in the Shanghai premises of its holding company, elexis Group. In the past decade, gross monthly wages in China increased at an average annual rate of about ten percent - and so did the growth prospects for automation system manufacturers. A growing number of European customers of Hekuma are relocating their production to China. Not only European and US customers, but also local companies in the automotive, medical device and consumer goods industries are increasingly investing in automation systems.

Hekuma managing director Bernhard Rupke comments: “The best way to meet the growing demand for our system solutions is an increased service presence and an enhanced German-Chinese dialogue within our company. To continue to work in close coordination with our partners, the development of a powerful sales and service center is a consistent and forward-looking step for the company”.

The Chinese sales organization around sales manager Jack Zuo will be strengthened by another local sales representative. In addition, Hekuma has also increased its capacity at its German headquarters in order to provide Chinese customers with technical consulting in their native language. Hekuma now has three employees with German-Chinese language skills. As of 2016, bilingual service engineer Marcel Rick will be based in Shanghai to provide service in China and the South-East Asian markets. Customers will be offered a comprehensive range of services in the areas of production and start-up support, operator and maintenance training (in Chinese) as well as machine and process optimization. For this purpose, Hekuma will, among other things, set up a local technical hotline. Beginning in 2015, experienced Hekuma employees will be providing service support of Hekuma systems out of Shanghai.
