GE Plastics: Glazing Center Inaugurated
In June GE Plastics inaugurated the first Automotive Glazing Center of Excellence in Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands. The establishment aims to help customers in the production of automobile glazing from the polycarbonate Lexan GLX or other materials. With this window material, in contrast with glass windows, savings can be made in the weight of vehicles and hence in fuel. The center forms part of the Global Application Technology Center (GApT) and is equipped with installations and technologies from Krauss Maffei GmbH, Munich, Summerer Technologies GmbH & Co. KG, Schechen-Rosenheim, and the patented coating technology Exatec, a joint venture of Bayer AG and GE Plastics.
