FRX Polymers: Ground Breaking Ceremony
FRX Polymers, Chelmsford, MA, USA, celebrated in September the first turn of the spade in the construction of a new manufacturing plant on the Scheldelaan in Antwerp, Belgium. The ceremony was attended by several dozen dignitaries and industry representatives. After the first spade was turned, speeches and a photo opportunity, the participants were received at Antwerp City Hall for a cocktail and a welcome by the mayor.
According to the plans, the new factory will open during Q4 2013 and will directly employ about 35 specialized operators. The Scheldelaan plant will produce the company’s Nofia branded flame retardant polymers, copolymers, and oligomers that are finding numerous applications in industry.
The superior properties of the plastics and additives that FRX Polymers will produce on a commercial scale in Antwerp are used in the aerospace, transportation, lighting, electrical instruments, textiles, and in a diverse number of applications in the consumer electronics industry.
