Ferrostaal: Plant for Tire Recycling in Abu Dhabi
A high efficiency tire recycling plant was officially opened in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi at the beginning of November. The system line can process up to 8,000 kilograms of old tires per hour, making it the largest in the United Arab Emirates. The produced granulate of sizes between 0.5–4 mm conforms to the highest quality standard.
The recycling plant from the manufacturer Eldan Recycling, Denmark, has been marketed by Ferrostaal. As part of the comprehensive service package for the plant-operator Omnix International, Ferrostaal secures financing for the purchase of the equipment.
In the recycling plant, the old tires are shredded, further downsized and sorted in a number of steps before the valuable rubber granulate (99.9% free of steel and textile) emerges as the end product. The plant can process waste tires without costly pre-treatment and can be expanded in terms of capacity and end product output.
