Fainplast Continues on Growth Path
Little more than a year from the start of full operation of its new EVAtech plant, Fainplast s.r.l., Ascoli, Italy, has doubled its production of EVA compound (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer).
In just a few months’ time, the company has reached an extremely ambitious goal, thanks to a highly automated production line worth over EUR 700,000. In that short period, the investment has led to significant results not only in terms of volume, but as regards turnover as well, with EVAtech sales estimated to exceed EUR 10 million by the end of 2016, which would account for approximately 10% of the company’s total turnover.
The plant can reach a total production capacity of 3500 tons a year. Apart from extensive production of compound for use with cables in a variety of sectors, including the photovoltaic, naval and railway industries, EVAtech also allows Fainplast to broaden its technologically advanced product offerings. The product is specially studied for the manufacture of closed-cell expanded products through injection technology. Light and soft to the touch, it resists abrasion and offers excellent properties of grip, coming in a variety of different levels of hardness and density, as well as different colors, for use in the production of closed-cell expanded products, such as soles and inter-soles for shoes.
