EPROs Best Recycled Plastic Product 2012
EPRO, the European Association of Plastics Recycling and Recovery Organisations, wants plastics recyclers, converters, producers and consumers to help find the best recycled plastics product in 2012.
The key objective of the competition is to raise awareness of the value and versatility of used plastics packaging whether it be post consumer or post industrial. The opportunity to recycle this material needs to be widely recognised. It is a valuable resource, not waste. Plastic packaging design, improved collection schemes, advances in sorting technology together with a greater range of reprocessing opportunities and applications means that the need to send plastics to landfill is gradually decreasing.
Industry advancements have provided the capacity to sort, reprocess and recycle. Users need to supply more plastic material of the right quality to fulfil the demand of the facilities across Europe, and to reduce the plastics resources going to landfill.
A panel consisting of representatives of EPRO, PlasticsEurope, EUPR, EUPC and ACR+ from across Europe will assess the entries and proclaim a winner. Competition participants can entry their product online at www.epro-bestproduct.eu.
