Engel: New CEO for North America
Beginning in June 2007 Stephan G. (Steve) Braig will be appointed CEO of ENGEL North America. Steve Braig has 25 years experience with capital equipment and machinery in the packaging, automotive and injection moulding industries. This change is supposed to mark the beginning of a new business strategy for the North American market.
The two north American plants –Guelph/Canada and York/USA – benefit from the worldwide platform concept of Engel. Based on the globally supplied subassemblies are augmented local engineering manufacturing and assembly operation. The focus of York remains the production of large machines and the focus of Guelph will be small and medium sized machines. Guelph will assembly fast-cycling Speed and fully-electric E-Motion machines with medium clamping forces. Engel plans the modernization of the plant Guelph and will invest USD 4 million in the next three years.
