Empire Precision Plastics Hires New Application Engineer
With the addition of Application Engineer Thomas Bittlingmaier, Empire Precision Plastics, Rochester, NY/USA, completes an expansion of its team and capabilities to better serve its growing base of medical device customers. Bittlingmaier, who has more than 30 years of experience in injection molding, will serve the medical device, industrial and electronics industries.
Other recent additions to Empire’s medical device repertoire include a new clean room for contract assembly and a full range of optics capabilities. In 2012, Empire acquired the assets of a local optics company, making it one of the only plastic injection molders to also manufacture polymer optics in-house. With capabilities such as single-point-diamond-turning and advanced metrology, Empire completes plastic prototyping and full production of optical components for noninvasive and minimally invasive medical devices such as endoscopes.
